The online campaigning organisation, Global Citizen, handed over 16,000 signatures to the Italian G7 in the sidelines of the NGO-G7 Sherpa meeting in late January.
The petition asks the G7 to deliver on their 2015 G7 pledge to lift 500 million people out of hunger and malnutrition. Global Citizen has been campaigning on nutrition and food security at the G7 since the 2015 pledge and the action is part of a range of activities it has planned for 2017 around food. The petition is still live on the Global Citizen’s site collecting more signatures which, presumably, will be handed in again sometime to the G7 leaders.
