The Food Security and Nutrition Working Group has launched a recommendation sign-on paper calling on the G7 to follow through on its 2015 commitment to raise 500 million people out of hunger and malnutrition by 2030. The paper has been endorsed by 19 organisations including Save the Children, ACF, Bread for the World and Global Poverty Project amongst others.
The paper calls the G7 to :
- Finalize a common financial accountability framework to monitor food security, agriculture and nutrition investments in a coherent, transparent and comparable manner across all G7 members.
- Build on the Schloss Elmau commitments and accelerate progress on SDG 2 by committing to attend the Rio Nutrition for Growth Summit in August and mobilise additional resources.
